In Topic: Best Song Remakes

29 December 2010 - 03:38 AM

Originality is always something difficult to find, espicially in music. Sometimes a song your parents loved as a kid will be revamped for this generation, you'll love it, and your parents will tell you of the original.

So out of all the songs you listened to, and you know are remakes, which one do you think is the best of the best? This can also include songs that are redone in video games that you enjoyed, and anything else. And make sure you try and add the original artist and what/where you heard it from (the newer song, and who its by).

Here's my List:

Sir Ivan - Live for Today

Smooth Criminal - AAF, originally by Michael Jackson

Holy Diver - Killswitch, originally by Dio

Bill Blaster! Run Faster - Paper Mario, remake of Airship theme from SMB3

Boys of Summer - The Ataris, originally by The Eagles (Eagles is slightly better, imo)

Black Magic Woman - Santana, originally by Fleetwood Mac

That's mine for now.

"Boys of Summer" was originally done by Don Henley...not The Eagles.

Okay, I'm not sure of the name of this song or when exactly it is played. But last Sunday's game kept playing the same part of this song right when they'd come back from a commercial. Or maybe I'm wrong, but the song was just the guitar part. And then it would repeat and add a harmonized part of the same thing. If I knew the artist it would be easier to find the song. But I can't figure out if it's Journey, Asia, Van Halen, or maybe Black Sabbath? I know I've heard the song before! Any one know what I'm talking about?

CBS or NBC?

If it's NBC, I remember they played the guitar part to Boston's "Peace of Mind" at one point.
